some (more) Ryan Adams and The Cardinals shows

cool.

as the flow unfolded for me, i would actually have to skip some shows in my state of california. that just really was a big bummer.

BUT the good news is, the back half of the tour is SMOKIN.

guess i just knocked out another 3 shows just as fast you can snap your fingers.

finger snapping? totally underrated...try it, just for a sec. its festive somehow, huh.

marin civic center 1/23/08 is the top pic...the middle two are from salem. the last one is from seattle. still figuring out how to maximize this blog site...bare with me*

Shine A Light

i'm taking a pause from a very groovy beginning to my 2008 to say what's going through my mind at the moment. it's funny, i keep thinking that i need to wait for "stuff" to happen before writing in here. truth is, "stuff" is always happening.

for example, i had a friend in town this weekend. turns out this person was wild and crazy about The Rolling Stones. i never was. i saw them in 1987, ironically, on the steal wheels tour, with my 2 friends lisa and kelli, and kelli's SUPER cool dad. wow~ did we feel cool! was that really twenty years ago? no. it was twenty ONE years ago. that's absurd.

anyways, besides that, and the "regular" Rolling Stones music, i really didn't care that much about it.

that said, i got a little lesson this past weekend. i was brushing up on that lesson tonight, listening to Exile on Main Street, and thought, wow, the lyrics to Shine A Light are really sweet. So, I googled them. and what came up was the Martin Scorcese film trailer that i had seen a couple months ago. it looked great at the time i saw the trailer, and i forgot about it til just now. looks pretty cool, esp the HD part.

so, if you've made it this far in this little sesh of my writing, i'll add one last thing, this little snippet from the song, shine a light, and it is my wish for anyone reading this...especially (mostly) the second line:

May the good lord shine a light on you
Make every song you sing your favourite tune
May the good lord shine a light on you
Warm like the evening sun

My Face Hurts: Permasmile

I have not seen a movie that had me laughing from start to finish like this one...?ever? oh man.

electric apricot: quest for festeroo...film by les claypool.

here's the thing: if you know me, then you can probably relate to about 85% of the mockery of this film and you will probably laugh and laugh like i did! if you are just getting to know me, well, this is a very amusing way to get acquainted with the lifestyle leading up to said movie: electric apricot. OMG>OMG>OMG!!>omg>omG!

so, maybe this is brief, but hey, i'm too busy still seriously cracking up from this movie. go to it. or buy it. or whatever you have to do: if you are reading this -blog- (i really hate calling it that), then you are remotely related to this scene and you should find parts if not all of it hilariously awesome.

p.s. the funniest part is that i was at (one of) the festival(s) deemed "festerooooo" the one with warren haynes and mike gordon, as some of the rest of you were, as well. i know it. please. watch this trailer. seriously. unless you hate laughing. then move on, for sure.
